It is "Time for Change" in Heritage Protection: Holding Greenpeace Accountable after Nazca Lines Destruction

In December 2014, Greenpeace activists walked across restricted Peruvian desert territory to place a large renewable energy sign next to an ancient Nazca hummingbird geoglyph. Meant to be seen from above, the sign read:  “The future is renewable!  Time for change.  Greenpeace.”  While the future may be renewable, the past unfortunately is not. The damages done to the site are largely irreparable, having obstructed desert terrain with footprints and supplies.  Large signs used for the activities…See More
